Final Assessment


Hello all for the last and final time:)
I would rate my physical wellbeing in unit 3 at a 7.  After reviewing my assessment I’m ending this class with my physical welling being at an 8. This area for me is the area I have to work on the most. I eat somewhat healthy but I don’t always exercise like I should. This class hads made me see that if I want to success in my career I need to really watch what I choose to put in my body. I am doing more cardio exercises and taking the time out of my day to plan for exercising. I would rate my spiritual wellbeing at from a 10 to 11. This area for me is the area that I dedicate the most time to and by taking this class it has strengthen my spiritually in many ways. When I get in touch with my spiritual side I feel better as a being inside and outside and this class have glided me in the right direction needed for human flouring.  I would rate my psychological wellbeing of a 8 to a 9. I always try to keep my brain training for the Olympian mental fitness.  The course hads thought me to use the power of my mind and how training your mind essential for human well being. To keep me from not going crazy I now take the time to write down my thoughts and feeling when I can and that will help me cope with things that are difficult for me in life. I have achieved most of my goals in each of this area but it is a working process and my final project is helping to get closer to my goals. Everyday I try to work closer in to achieve my goals that I have set of myself. This class has showed me that I need to take care of myself because when I do I feel connected and closer to others and I can help heel them in a way that benefits for both of us. I feel like now that I can understand myself a little better I can help people though me own experiences and well ness. A major part of the heeling process in the mind body connection. Our consciousness can influence and shape our personal experiences and how we connect with others. The power of the mind can transcend physical space to affect the mind, body, and spirit of all those we touch.

Unit 9 Final Project

Introduction
It is important for a health and wellness professionals to develop psychologically, spiritually, and physically techniques because it is beneficial for human flourishing. A professional needs to practice what they preach. It gives them a deeper understanding of themselves and it makes expectations clear to others what is expected of them. I really believe that wellness is not theory but a way of life. In order to really understand what wellness truly means you must live that life style to the best of your ability. You must have a deep connection with your mind, body, and soul to fully understand how to heel yourself and others. These concepts are necessary to achieve lasting holistic health, which are health, happiness, and wholeness. If we cannot remove the causes of human suffering, we will gain freedom from needless, suffering, we can create a good foundation for human well-being. To achieve this first you must train the mind to a more positive way of thinking.  Research studies show that mental training can transform the mind by reducing emotions like anger, fear, worry, or doubt into positive emotions like love and kindness. The confusion and misunderstanding, can untrain the mind and you became unfocused. If we can learn to train our minds to replace disturbing mental activities with love kindness, this will allow us to develop our consciousness through contemplative practice and your other capacities through a comprehensive program of integral practice. As a result of following these steps you will be more clam, gain discerning wisdom, and have an open heart. When you tie all of these principles together the final goal would be to place all life on a direct and proper path to human flourishing. From integral health we learn how to move with confidence and clarity, which lead to wholeness. This relates to my profession because I can take these tools that I have learned and incorporate them into my daily practices. If I can learn how to follow these principles, I can treat people in a way that is rewarding to the person I’m healing and myself. For myself spiritually is the strongest aspect for because I feel I have achieve all my goals for my spiritually. My psychological health is also pretty stable although sometimes I let my anxiety get the best of me but it under control. The one area I can improve on is the physically. It not that I live an unhealthy life but out of all the area I know I can do better. This area has always been a struggle for me because of my eating habits. It not that I eat junk food all day but I can make better choices about the foods I decide to put in my body. I want to get to a point where I balance my food choices to make healthier food decisions. I know I am always saying you need to also exercise the mind but I sometimes I forget the physically aspect of exercising.

Assessment
This class has made me think a lot about where I stand and rate myself in each of these areas. I would rate my psychological health on a scale from 1-5 with five being the most at a 4. This area I am pretty well rounded for me but I still struggle with anxiety. This is something that I have struggled with for a long time and everyday I found myself learning to cope with this condition. I find that mediation may anxiety level has dropped way down but it is still a struggle everyday for me.
I would rate my spiritually level at a 5. It seems like this is an area that most people struggle with on a daily bases but for me this area comes really easy for me. I have always been a very spiritual person but I also believe that certain people in this world are spiritually connected to a high being and you must help others with spiritually that struggle and I feel like I am one of these people that can help. I get so many people in my life that come to me for spiritual guidance and I am so happy to guild them in the right direction that seems fit for them.
I would rate my physically level at a 3. I know that I am a pretty healthy person but I can defiantly do more physical exercises. Most people tend to forget that you mind also need to physical work out which I have achieved but I still struggle with the physical aspect of working out.

Goal Development
This class has put in perspective all the goals I want to achieve for myself personally and professionally. One goal that I have for my psychological is to not let my anxiety get the best of me. I have to learn that I will never get rid of all my anxiety completely but I have learn how to reflect that negative energy in a different direction that is more beneficial to my health. I know that spiritually is not a big problem for me but I would like to strengthen my spiritually with a goal of helping others find their spiritually. To do this I want to get involve with my church at lease once a week. The last goal  I have for myself  is that I would love to improve on would be the physically aspect of my health. I would like to do more cardio at least twice a week

Practices for Personal Health
I order to help me with my anxiety I want to keep a journal with me at all times and when I have some anxiety coming on I can get those thoughts and feeling out right away so I can move on with my life in a more positive way. I also use mediation as a tool for coping with my anxiety. I mediate all most everyday of my life but I want to try to start and end my day with mediation. I see that when I do this I feel like my anxiety though out my day is less likely to take over. Most of the time I just mediate when I feel some anxiety coming on and it helps but I feel like the damage as already set in with a negative affect.  I have so many thoughts going though my head every minute of the day and I want to use my journal and my mediation as a way to direct my energy in a more positive way.
My church offers a program that helps people that are lost with spiritually find their way so they do not feel lost anymore. I would be a spiritually guilder to many different people and be there for them in any way I can. I want to make these types of connection because it is important for me to have a great foundation when I comes to my career goals. This step would be great practice for what I want to do with my career. On a more personally I would like to attend church more. I feel that when I go to church my week is more fulfilling and more positive even if I’m having a bad week.
 I’m always trying to heel my mind I sometimes forget about the physical aspect of things. I live right by a trail and would want to do some light running at lease twice a week. I also want to start on weight training as well. I have a friend who is a personal train and he will help me with my weight lifting twice a week. I always taught that weight training is not for me but I also realized that if I want to get my body on shape it is an essential part of working out and being healthy. I also want to watch the type of foods I am putting into my body. I have a big problem with carbs and my sugar intake. I want to cut back on these particular types of foods that are high in sugar. I know I can’t cut out all sugar from my diet but I want to make an affect to cut back on my sugar intake. I want to pick two days out of the week not where I’m not allowed to have any sugar at all in my diet.

Commitment
I will assess my progress in the next 6 months by keeps a journal for each area I want to approve on. I know I will not have time everyday to track my progress so I will make a commit to track my goals at lease once a week. This will be a great tool that I use not only for myself but once I start working in this field it is something that I can offer my patients. I think this is the most important step for human flourishing. You can make all these goals for yourself but if you don’t make that commitment you will not get very far.

Loving Kindness and Visualization


Hello everyone:)

It was so hard to pick just two exercises that I have learn to be beneficial to me because they all have been beneficial for me. If I had to pick just two it would be the loving kindness and the visualization exercise. I have never heard of the loving kindness exercise before I started taking this class but this happens to be one of my favorite exercises. I love that not only do I benefit from this exercise but other people around me can also benefit from it as well. I can foster this practice in my personal life to foster mental fitness by creating wellness. A perfect example of this I when someone you know is sick and the only way so can help them is the natural  way this helps them to prepare
to overcome sickness thought the power of the mind.

The next exercise I chose was the visualization exercise. I chose this one because I really do believe in the power of the book The Secret. If you can see your goals and visualize yourself achieving these goals it will happen for you. I can foster this practice to foster mental fitness by taking the necessary steps need to train my  mind to a specific way of thinking. A good example of this would be myself. I knew I always wanted to go into alternative medicine and I have made the decision to go back to school to achieve that goal. I feel like because I can see myself there, it will happen for me in my lifetime. I feel like though this class I am able to put all these steps and tools together to create my perfect wellbeing for human flourishing.

Mindfulness Meditation


Hello all,
This was a great exercise for me this week. I have been going though a lot lately so I really have not had the proper time to mediate and I have notice a big difference when I do not mediate. I did the exercise after a long week of working and it was the perfect time for me to do this exercise.  I do a lot of different kinds of mediation and I have to say mindfulness mediation is one of my favorite to part take in. I have notice that when I live in the moment my mind does not seem to be so crowed and I can think clearer. When I can think clearer I have a strong connection to my spiritually and when I get that deeper connection not only think clearer,  I make better life decisions. I can continue to apply these practices by taking time to set aside time for mind relaxation. I think the saying “One cannot lead another where one has not gone himself” means to practice what you preach. Learning to lead yourself is an important foundation for human well being. Learning to lead by example is practically import for health care professionals. Human nature sometimes seems to help us with the ability to assess everybody else but ourselves. We sometimes forget that we are the most important person.  I think that if we don’t look at ourselves realistically we will not understand how to heal someone psychologically, physically, and spiritually. I think wellness professionals have a huge obligation for the way they heal their clients. Our clients come to us from a different kind of patient care and they depends on us to lead by example to help heal them as a whole. You can continue to apply these practices to implement psychological and spiritual growth in your personal life by giving the same care you would give your patients. Not only should a good health care wellness practitioner know how to heal others, you would do the same for yourself.

Loving Kindness (meditation) exercise/Integral Assessment

 
Hello again everyone:)
I have to say out of all the weekly exercises we do I love the loving kindness exercises. I feel that the people around me including my self really do benefit from these exercises. My boyfriend recently was hospitalized and has been really sick and not feeling well so I did this exercise with him. I love doing these exercises because I helps me to strengthen my healing skills. My boyfriend still has some medical issues but as a whole his feels better about his recovery and now has a positive mindset. I think that is the differences in recovery you must have a positive mindset to begin the process of healing.

The assessment process I have to do twice the first time I did it I seemed to go more towards mediation. But once I re did this exercise I was able to focus a lot more. The area I choose to focus more is the biological and worldly aspect.  I choose biological because I feel like out of all the quadrants I sometimes lack on this area. I would like to work on my diet. I do not eat horrible but I now I can do a lot better with my diet choices. The second aspect I choose to improve on was worldly. Now usually I do not have a problem in this area but with everything going on in my life this sometimes takes a back seat. I not that I have to be an active member of my community I think its super important to do so. So this week I made it my mission to make better diet choices and do a least one volunteer act.

The week I made much better diet choices by watching my sugar. I have a problem in eating way to much sugar. I picked foods that are low in carbs and sugars. I also gave blood to the American Red Cross and I volunteered at a soup kitchen though my church. This week was a great week for me.

The Subtle Mind


Hello all:0
This week exercise was a good exercise but I did not feel like I did not benefited from it that much. I say this because I do yoga at least 3 times and week and we practice breathing curtain techniques often. At the same time this was a great practice for me because breathing does help me take the forces off of my mental thoughts. The oceans wave in the background was a good way to get me to relax. I love being the presents of natural sounds. When I first do these types of exercises sometimes it hard for me to just jump right into it. I need to let all of my thought out first and then I can focus on mind stillness.  I find that taking time out of y day to clear my mind, I notice that I can focuses better and make clearer decisions.  I have to say I felt like I benefited more from the loving kindness exercise  because I felt like it was  more of a healing exercise for me. I really believe in order to be a good healing you must project loving kind thoughts towards that person's way and you will receive them back to you.  I feel like I always benefit more when I can help other people beside myself. This exercise is great if you are looking for a good piece of mind. I feel like when you put good positive thoughts into the world you will get good positive thoughts back to you. Theses types of mind exercise help me to focus on positively.

Loving Kindness


Hello all:)
I really enjoyed the week’s exercise a lot. My mother suffers from high blood pressure that is stress induced. I have been working with her to cut down as much stress a possible and getting her on a good diet.  This week she has been very stressed out and her blood pressure has been very high. I did this exercise once by myself, sending well being kindness in her direction. Later when I told her I did this exercise for her she actually said that her blood pressure when down slowly though out the week. Then I did the exercise once with her and we took her blood pressure shortly after and it was near perfect. I keep trying to tell her that you need to train you mind in a positive way of thinking and you will get very high healing results. My mother was truly amazed that this exercise really benefited her in a positive way. This also helped me because I’m learning new techniques to help heal other people. I have found that if I believe in interagal healing, and I get the person I’m healing to believe as well we both benefit in more ways that one. Later my mother told me that she has felt better that she as in years and she also is thinking very clearly than she has ever before. This just proves that if you have compassion for others it affects both you and other people’s welfare in a positive way. If you attract loving kindness you well receive love kindness in return.
